ETA 2834-2

The ETA 2834-2 combines ordinary timekeeping with day and date displays. Its outer day indication offers a different calendar arrangement from two adjacent windows at the side of the dial. Reading the specification carefully

Published reserve figures need their context. ETA's current portal gives 42 hours typical, while its January 2018 technical communication lists 38 hours of running time. Those documents should not be blended into a claim that every older watch has the current figure. Use the specification for the particular finished watch and version. ETA's 2018 technical sheet.

The movement's diameter also belongs to the mechanism, not the finished case. A case needs its own mounting, crystal, seals and exterior; selecting a calibre is not enough to calculate the complete watch's dimensions.

In the atelier

The day-date layout places the day at 12 and date at 3, giving the calendar two distinct visual locations. Compare it with the side-by-side presentation of the Sellita SW220-1. This affects the space available for the dial's upper lettering and its right-hand marker.

The graphic preserves those layout cues and automatic-winding identity, but its rear mechanism is illustrative rather than a parts catalogue. A reserve number is reference information, not a simulated countdown; finishes and rotor tones do not change accuracy or energy storage.
